la vie en cocoa
There
is nothing we here at OB love more than a haunted house...that is unless it’s a
chocolate haunted house! (sigh)
flower power
I got inspired by a holiday crafters blog to make these vintage accordion
paper flowers. That pail was another fortunate thrift store find. Notice also
the count and my Sanrio Halloween desk calendar.

Sweet and Spooky Halloween Cookie Garland
Another
project I made this year on my sewing machine for Halloween. I found the
patterns for these adorable Halloween felt cookies in a holiday themed craft
magazine at Barnes and Noble and had to try it. After making a sample of the
candy corn cookie I decided that they would look so sad just sitting on the
table so I added a little loop to the back of each one, laced some felted black
ribbon through them all and turned it into a garland. It turned out so great
that I might just hang it year around in my studio space.

deck the halls
As if we needed any more
Halloween festooning, I created this banner for our home. I have been
collecting Halloween fabric for quite some time now waiting until I had enough
to complete this project. I made a simple triangular pattern from some old
floral paper and cut out enough shapes so I could spell out "Happy Halloween",
then I ironed on the lettering.
I was lucky enough to find the iron on transfer letters in the Halloween bin at the thrift store! I then spooled up some orange thread on my machine and went to work sewing it all on the ribbon. Voila! A simple and fast project that came together well and looks great wherever you hang it.
